Traditional roasts every Sunday
We use the best quality cuts of meat Roast rib of beef, pork belly, slow cooked shoulder of lamb, roasted chicken breast. We also offer a selection of fish, vegetarian & vegan main courses. Gluten free also accommodated. Homemade Yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes, fresh vegetables & homemade gravy. A range of starters & desserts available. Book early as we do get busy.

The quiz is held in The Rutland room. We have the capacity for 6 tables of 6 so please book in early. Our quiz hosts are Steve & Michelle. Entry is £2 per person. Teams of up to 6 people.

Lighting of the pub Christmas tree, carols & mince pies
Sunday 29th November 2026 at 6pm
Christmas tree lighting in Cottesmore at The Sun Inn. We get a huge beautiful tree from Digby Farm and turn on the lights with the community on Sunday 29th December 2026 at 6pm. There will be carol singers The Cottesmore Military wives choir everyone can sing along, warm mince pies, mulled wine 🍷 and a cosy pub fire 🔥 inside. Great community event please join us 🎄
50th Bucket Night
Sunday 20th December 2026 6pm to 11pm
Bucket night, traditionally held on the last Sunday before Christmas. A traditional fun night which includes lots of singing of the bucket song every time someone buys a bucket of beer (8 pints) when the bell 🔔 rings. Bucket night t shirt with every bucket purchase. Starts at 6pm until 11pm

New Years Eve Thursday 31st December 2026 open until 12.30am
See the New Year in at The Sun Inn! There will also be a New Years Eve Dinner Menu (bookings only from 5.30pm to 8pm) also live music from C JHatt from 9pm to 12.15pm. Pub open as normal from 12 noon to 12.30am
